Hi, In the Indian society it is hard to love without getting married. The parents of the girl are always on their toes to stop their girl from having a boyfriend unless they know the boy and they give the permission after they get them engaged.
I think there are positive effects of this tradition but there are negative too. The boys find it difficult to have a girl friend when they need one. The girls also want to live a free life, but they have to start the love affairs in the back of their parents. I think this makes them lie to their parents, and results in their low self esteem.
The girls are not able to take their life decisions confidently afterwards, because it is the first decision of their life which they are not allowed to take by themselves. Boys are helpless here because they will not fight with the parents of the girls for this, because they have so many other works in life, like the most important their career.
I think the only way for the girls is to get independent as soon as possible and then they can get more confidence and make their own decisions including the love, which is most important.
Thanks for your kind visit!
